Life Story for Ronald Earl Ruby

RUBY, Ronald Earl passed away after a short illness, at the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, British Columbia on Monday March 13th, 2017 at the age of 78 years.

Ron leaves behind his daughter Lynda and her husband Daniel Bond of Coquitlam, B.C., son Darrell Ruby and his wife Michele of Clinton, Ontario and son Kevin Ruby of Stratford, Ontario. Grandfather to Christopher, Alexander and Taylor Bond, of Coquitlam, B.C., Lucas Ruby of Baden, Ontario and Jordan Wilson of Ottawa Ontario.

He is predeceased by his loving wife Barbara Ruth Ruby (nee: Marshall), mother Melinda (nee: Iutzi), father Nelson Ruby and brothers Lyle and Claire Ruby.

Ron was born in Tavistock, Ontario on June 4th, 1938, and grew up in the same town before marrying Ruth to raise a family. Ron worked for J.M. Schneider’s in Kitchener before starting his own business, Tavistock Sewage Disposal. Ron would later work in the automotive parts industry and then as a salesman. Ron and his family lived in Tavistock, Stratford, New Hamburg and Kitchener before moving to Coquitlam, B.C. to retire.

Ron was an avid fisherman and spent countless hours with his sons enjoying the great outdoors. Those who knew Ron will have fond memories of his infectious laugh and his relentless sense of humour. Always the life of the party.

His remains will be returned to Ontario for a celebration of life with family and friends.
