Obituary for Severina Estrada Banglayan

Severina E. Banglayan

Born October 27, 1935 in San Antonio, Zambales, Philippines, passed away peacefully Thu July 13, 2017 at the McKenney Creek Hospice (Maple Ridge). She immigrated to Winnipeg, MB independently in 1972 and led the way for a few of her younger siblings. She tried a variety of jobs in her first decade of living in Winnipeg, but found her true passion was in hair dressing where she lead a successful career for 25+ years. She even owned her hair salon, New Waves in East Vancouver. There she forged many, many long-term friendships.

Severina is survived by her daughters Brenda (Ryan) and Joy (Daryl); her grandchildren, whom she cherished & adored every minute of their lives: James, Chelsea & Arianna Joy; her siblings, Claring (Bert), Tessie, Sydney (Lourdes), and Fely (Digna); as well as her many nieces & nephews. And also, her many relatives in the Philippines (Nellie Cabiles & Family & Olive Cabiles & Family). She is predeceased by her siblings Federico, Edilberto, Leoncio and her brother-in-law Norman Francis.
