Obituary for Angelina Gentile (Sbrocchi)

Angelina Gentile (Sbrocchi) was born in Bondi Beach Australia in May of 1917.
She was predeceased by her parents, Giovanni and Angela, brothers, John, Peter and Tony, and
sisters, Rosaria, Mary and Elizabeth.
She is survived by her sons, Bob (Sandy) and David, her grandsons, David (Jennifer), Michael
(Margot), and Bobby, and her great granddaughters Sophia and Ava.
She moved to Vancouver with her mother, and sister Betty in 1934, having her 17 th birthday on
the voyage over.  She met Mario Gentile and got married in April of 1939.
It didn’t take Angelina long to fit into her Vancouver lifestyle and become the life of the party-
and she always dressed the part, being the glamorous, gorgeous beauty she was.
She was an avid and accomplished 5 pin bowler, she loved travelling & was always at the
forefront of a good time.
She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. And she always gave the
greatest hugs of all time. She gave vise-like hugs even all the way up until she passed.
To all who have had the privilege of experiencing her amazing Italian cooking- and there were
many- they are surely even more deeply appreciative of her boundless love, kindness &
generosity. She also had a great sense of humour, as any of those who knew her are well aware.
Angelina, Angie, Mom, daughter, sister, and Nonna- I’m sure would like to thank everyone
that’s been a part of her amazing life. From Bondi Beach Australia, to East Vancouver, to
Burnaby, having lived to 102 years of age, we think she had an amazing ride.
We can only hope we loved her as much as she loved us.
