Obituary for Dale Lorraine Hannay

In loving memory of Dale Lorraine born on July 29, 1937 in Winnipeg. Dale passed away with her daughters by her side on September 5, 2020. Always in the hearts of her three daughters, Carla of Vancouver, Diana of Coquitlam, Linda of Edmonton, and her grandson Matthew also of Edmonton.

Dale was a creative force with a lifelong love of painting, watercolour, nature and quantum mechanics. She was endlessly curious and was a positive loving spirit her entire life. She now rests peacefully in heaven with her numerous cats and dogs, including Maryanne, Tabby, Frieda, Frodo, Brandy, Sean, Paddy and Jasmine. She was an industrious and hard worker, holding down jobs in various positions from nurse to teacher to administrator. She was strong, tenacious and above all a loving mother. She would often quote her own mother when times got tough by reaffirming ‘This too shall pass’. Her humor, wit and intellect will be sorely missed.

Dale is laid to rest at the Robinson Memorial Park Cemetery in Coquitlam.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Diabetes Canada.
