Obituary for David Ally

David was the youngest of three sons born to Ron & Shirley Ally and the only one to be born in Canada. His parents met while working at a hospital in England and married in 1967. Ron was born in Guyana; Shirley was born and lived in England. They moved to Canada in 1970 with their two young sons, Robin and Shane.

David was born in New Westminster in 1977. He attended school in Coquitlam, graduating from Centennial High in 1995. During his teenage years he played several sports but mostly enjoyed baseball. At 19 years of age, David developed cancer, which he overcame after several months of chemo and surgery.

David loved driving and primarily operated heavy duty equipment vehicles, more recently working on the oil sands in Alberta and on the Trans-Mountain pipeline as a Hydrovac operator.

David will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, his kindness and thoughtfulness, and his passion for music and DJ’ing. He was talented, smart and knowledgeable; he had dreams to go to music school in the new year.

This past summer many of our Canadian/Guyanese relatives visited BC. David loved spending as much time with them as he was able.
To Shirley, his mum, he was a loving and thoughtful son, entertaining and funny. They cooked together and laughed together, and Shirley learned much from him.

David adored his niece Brittany and looked forward to her visits to Coquitlam from Vancouver Island. He also enjoyed chatting with her dad (his brother) Shane.

Our family will miss David. Rest in peace, beloved son.
