Obituary for David Lawrence Pedersen

PEDERSEN, David Lawrence
February 13, 1960 – November 27, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother David Lawrence Pedersen at the age of 63 in Vancouver, BC, on November 27, 2023.

David was a natural athlete; he enjoyed a number of sports, including skiing and golf. He especially excelled at soccer, winning a trophy for 2nd best player in his league. After graduating from Okanagan Mission Secondary, David moved to Montana, USA, where he worked on a cattle ranch owned by relatives. He then moved to Utah, working in construction, and then to California, before moving back to Kelowna, BC. David eventually settled in Vancouver and got a job with Canada Post, retiring in 2021, after 33 years.

With his wit and humor, David made friends easily. He had a tender heart and was able to see the good in people. Drawn to the most vulnerable, he would open his door to others in need.

David was predeceased by his parents, Alfred & Dorothy Pedersen; his brother, Glen Pedersen; and sister-in-law, Deborah Pedersen.

David leaves behind his brother, Kurt; sisters, Connie Gough (Brian) and Karen Pedersen; as well as nephews, Craig and Chad Brook; and nieces, Alicia Ponich (Clay), Christina Masco (Bowen), Kirsten Pedersen, and Chloe Pedersen (Adam). David will also be missed by his four grandnephews, Eli Masco, Daxon, and Rylar Diett, and Liam Fulton; as well as his four grandnieces Alice Mason, LynnDee, and Eleanor (Ella) Masco, and Olivia Capadouca.

David’s ashes will be interred with his dad's and beside his brother Glen's at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 1991 Bernard Ave, Kelowna, BC.
