Obituary for Dawn Lorraine Winder (Owen)

Mom (Dawn, Denelda) Owen was born in Vancouver, BC, on May 3rd, 1929.

Mom was married to Dad (Bill Winder) on Oct 12th, 1951, and they were married 64 years.

Dawn worked as a telephone operator at the compensation board early on and then in a news stand in the Bental centre in Vancouver while Clark and I (Mike) were in our teens. Mostly, she was a stay at home mom, giving us 2 boys all the love and attention we could ever ask for growing up. Dawn loved people and all people loved Dawn. Always loving, smiling, and caring. She, and Dad, were also actively involved for several of their later years at the Northside Foursquare Church where Pastor Barry presides.
Dawn is survived by her two sons and their wives, Clark and Ursula Winder and Michael and Trudy Winder; her brother in law and his wife Al and Joyce Winder; her 4 grandchildren Angela and Dave, Melanie and Dave, Kevin and Alysha, and Melissa and Richard; her 7 great grandchildren Cassidy, Jack, Sadie, Aubrey, Thomas, Abigale, and Beckett; her nieces and nephews and their families; and her many close friends.
Dawn is preceded in death by her Husband Bill Winder, her neice Carol, her Sister Doreen, and her parents Christine and Goronwy Owen.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the BC cancer foundation, http://bccancerfoundation.com/ways-donate/gift-memory. The family of Dawn Winder wishes to thank the Residence at Belvedere assisted living, the Royal Columbia Hospital, and the Mckenney Creek Hospice, for their wonderful staff and the amazing care given.
