Obituary for Douglas William Snyder

I thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday,
And days before that too.

I think of you in silence,
I often speak your name.
All I have are memories,
And your picture in a frame.

Your memory's my keepsake,
With which I'll never part.
God has you in his keeping,
I have you in my heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 27, 2019 at 12:30 pm at the Burnaby Mountain Golf Club, 7600 Halifax Street, Burnaby, B.C. Lunch, social and a cash bar to follow. The family requests that everyone "bring a memory" to place in the memory box. These will long be cherished by his family.

Uncle Doug,
I will always remember you speeding around Boswell with us kids piled in the back of your truck... you were always such fun. You are greatly missed. Much love, Olivia

Dear Dorothy and fam,
I said to George this morning: “Do you remember our first meeting with Doug?”
“Yep” he said. “Yellow Mustang.”

And that was the start of a long and great friendship with both of you. Of course we got to know you well when you came to visit that summer we were still living in Boswell. I remember your saying “We need to call the kids in – and by that I mean Doug as well.” What times he had with children. Certainly our 3 have never forgotten their times with Uncle Doug, and because of the large age differences between them, they all felt they had him to themselves.
On an adult level, he has always been equally engaging. At all times interesting and interested. I loved talking politics with him. We agreed passionately on some issues and disagreed, probably just as passionately, on others, but always with good humour.
We will all miss him enormously,
Lots of love,
Stacey, George, Adam, Zoe and Phendu

I have very fond memories of Doug as a child in Boswell - and the huge amount fun he was when he visited us is a highlight memory for me. Doug took me fishing it really felt he was enjoying every minute of it as much as I was - I really loved it - he was like a big giant smile in the day. He will be missed by all that met him.

My thoughts are with you all.

Thank you so much for your kind support and donation. You are an amazing team. My brother was an integral part of my world when I was a little girl and his love and support never waivered through the years. We will all miss him terribly.
