Erna, devoted wife of Steven [who we lost in April 2001], and mother of Sharon [husband Stephen Palm] and Sandra (husband Gil Dumas], and grandchildren Alejandro, Veronica and Alicia; born in the far away country of Romania on December 9, 1927, passed away peacefully with her loving family present on a beautiful sunny morning on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. To all those who knew and loved her, she was a woman of integrity and spirit. She had a strong and courageous heart and an amazingly positive attitude and love of life. This became particularly evident in her last years when after having enjoyed physical strength and good health all her life she was struck by an illness which quickly reduced the strength she so enjoyed and her mobility. Through this adversity, she still managed to enjoy life on her terms. She was so easy to love and those of us left behind will always love her. Erna’s family wishes to honour her by having a memorial/dedication to Erna’s life and to express what she meant to us. It will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Fireside Room at the Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam, BC.
