Obituary for Esmaeil Miryaghoobi

Esmaeil Miryaghoobi loved Jesus and went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday, May 7. He died suddenly of a heart attack, while living in Turkey. Esmaeil was the first one in his family to give his heart to Jesus and also the first one to go home and be with the One his heart and soul loved. He will be sorely missed by all those he left behind.

Esmaeil’s love for Jesus, and others was obvious to all those who knew him. His greatest passion was to write poetry about Jesus and to worship Him. He loved being involved in leading worship in the church using the songs he has written. Esmaeil was always eager to share his testimony as he lived his Christian life ‘out loud’. He was filled with hope and faith regardless of the difficult circumstances his family found themselves in, living as refugees in Turkey. His life and poetry were an encouragement and example to those who knew him.

Esmaeil was a hard-working man and lived a full life. He had many gifts and interests. He played many instruments and taught music. He was a great cook and baker, and he liked to be well groomed every day.

Every church event was blessed by a new poem he wrote for that special occasion. And on this special occasion he would have written: “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21, from the Bible)

Esmaeil is survived by his dear wife, Masoumeh, his daughter Sheida and her husband Saeid, son Saeid and his wife Ladan and their 2 children, Levi and Livia. He was the 2nd oldest of 7 children and leaves his siblings and many nieces and nephews behind.

There will be a small Celebration of Life at Westwood Community Church in the near future.
