Obituary for Helen Winifred Moore (Findlay)

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Helen Moore on July 28, 2020 at age 97, at McKenney
Creek Hospice.

Left to mourn are her son Jerry (Marion), granddaughter Laura of Victoria and nephew,
Glen Sellers (Char) of Princeton BC. She was predeceased by her great love, Dinty (Leon) Moore, and
their youngest son, Gordon. She also leaves to mourn her devoted friends, Bob, Lorraine and Maureen
(Chris), as well as so many treasured friends from her community and church.

Helen was born in Lemberg, Sask and came to North Van to work as a secretary, when she caught the eye of a handsome local at an Ioco baseball game. Helen was a volunteer at the Ioco United Church for upwards of 70 years which included a lengthy service as Treasurer. She was a tireless advocate of her church and spent many hours cleaning and decorating for church services as well as fundraising and volunteering at the church thrift store.

Helen belonged to Just Us Girls (JUGS) service club, who did some spirited fundraising. Helen curled until she was 75 and also enjoyed salmon fishing, baking and gardening. She always looked at the bright side and her greatest pleasure was spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed her time at Parkwood Manor, joining all their social activities.

A special thanks to Rev. Jennifer, friend Grace, and the Hospice staff. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
