Obituary for Jim Honeysett

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Honeysett at the age of 72 after a long hard fought battle with leukemia. He loved his home and his ocean (as he so often referred to it when he was sitting down on his dock) but most importantly, he loved his family.

He had many wonderful years playing hockey and baseball and developed long lasting friendships along the way. Boating and fishing were other great loves of Jim’s with many hours spent on his boat and dock, sometimes alone but most often with family and friends.

Jim’s career spanned over 40 years in the lumber business. The guidance he received from Cooper-Widman and Taiga Forest Products enabled him in May of 1995 to start his own lumber business, South Beach Trading Inc, where he remained until his retirement in 2013.

He leaves behind his loving wife Wendy of 52 years and his son Jeff and daughter Liana as well as his grandsons Darren, Brett and Teigan who always brought him great joy and pride. He will also be missed by his brother-in-law Wayne and wife Kelly, his nieces Alannah(Todd), Elisa(Milan), as well as his nephews Chase and Todd.

There will be a celebration of life on Friday, July 12th from 3-6 pm at Old Orchard Hall, 646 Bentley Rd., Port Moody, B. C.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nevill as well as all the doctors and nurses at VGH daycare that cared for Jim over the last six years.
