John Byron Johnson was born on September 23, 1949 in Mission. He passed away suddenly in his home on September 17, 2023.
John grew up in Maple Ridge. He had a passion for dogs and adored his dog that he grew up with. Overtime he developed an interest for boats. So much so that he lived on one for many years. Another one of his interests was collecting fossils. Whenever he travelled to a new place, he was always on the look out for fossils.
John was well liked by his friends and neighbours. He was known for his sense of humour and his kind heart. He loved to chat with his neighbours and give them a hand or a ride whenever possible. He also loved to strike up a conversation with anyone he passed by on the streets.
Mostly, John was proud of his children and grandchildren. Telling stories, sharing knowledge, giving big hugs, and making them laugh, is what they will remember most about him.
John will be loved and missed by daughter Jennifer (Frisco), son Michael (Caitlin), grandchildren Alexander, Ephraim, Poppy, Juniper, step brothers and sisters, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.
