Obituary for Katherine Elizabeth Reid (Carroll)
REID, Katherine Elizabeth (Kaye) (nee Carroll)
February 10, 1934 – November 29, 2020
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Friend. She was 86 and predeceased by her husband Alex in 1988.
Kaye was born in Belfast, Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1955 with Alex, where they married and eventually settled in Burnaby, BC. She raised 4 children and worked for CIBC for many years, then went on to work for ICBC until her retirement in 1995. In her retirement, she enjoyed travelling all over the world with friends and spending much time at her local Seniors Centre where she learned to line dance. Kaye joined the Wild West Country Dancers and loved to dance and perform with them at many community events. She also spent much of her time alongside her family; she adored babysitting her grandchildren and watching them grow.
One of her frequent travels was back to Ireland. She visited relatives and friends, including her cousin Colin Murnaghan who she remained close with throughout the years.
Kaye had many close friends and was loved by all.
She is survived by her 4 children Mike (Debbie), Barry (Kathy), Carole (Michael), and Robert (Juanitta), and her 9 grandchildren Ryan (Laura), Rebecca, Alexander, Amanda, Michelle, Vanessa, Rachel, Reilly, and Brianna.
Funeral Mass will be held on Dec 10th 10:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Burnaby BC
Burial to follow at Robinson Memorial Park Cemetery, Coquitlam BC
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral will be held for immediate family. Her service will be live streamed by the Burquitlam Funeral Home.
