Obituary for Keith Ian McLaren

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Keith, an amazing man to all who knew and loved him. Keith is survived by the Love of his Life, Stella, children Brent (Jessica), Kevin (Maria), Jodi (Geoff), Pam (Marke) and grandchildren, Brooke, Alex, Blaire, Ethan, Amanda and Ashley. Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1938, Keith was a true, humble Prairie Boy and lifelong Riders fan. Dad enjoyed a long career in the telecommunications and computer businesses which took us to Regina and then Port Coquitlam in 1975. Family was at the root of everything for Dad, from great vacations which came to include the Nelson Family Reunions, to three years of travelling North America in an RV with Mom. When the family was young, Dad enjoyed playing and coaching baseball and hockey. He also loved playing cards and golfing with relatives and friends. Dad and Mom settled in Surrey where Dad was active on his various strata committees. Dad was a kind, thoughtful, gentle soul and he will be dearly missed by all.

Thank you to the Doctors and staff at Queens Park Care Centre and Nicola Lodge.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, January 22 at 10am at Burquitlam Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dad's name to the Alzheimer Society of BC would be greatly appreciated.
