Obituary for Lumen Dytuco

We are saddened to say that our Mom, Lumen - generous, caring & fun-loving to the end, passed away on Wed, May 29th . She’s joining Dad, her husband of over 61 years, one month & a day after his passing, along with our two brothers (Jose & Mario) who also predeceased them.

We have faith that they are now all happy together again, in the realm of eternal peace, still joking around as always and having fun with other family & friends who predeceased them.

Lumen was born in the Philippines as one of five children, and made the bold move with her husband and five children to Vancouver in the 70’s. She was diagnosed with metastatic cancer almost a year ago and more recently, suffered a severe stroke, which then led to her passing.

We wish to express our profound gratitude to the staff and volunteers of Fraser Health, and specifically, the Crossroads Hospice, who provided Mom with a nurturing home over the last few months of her life. Their magnanimous support and caring, along with Mom’s always positive energy and strong will, undoubtedly helped slow down the progression of her illness, allowing her the time to “be there” for Dad through his short bout with terminal cancer… and most importantly, have those precious few days with him at the same hospice where he spent
his last days.

And as with Dad, we ask that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Crossroads Hospice Society so they can continue the invaluable support they provide in helping people be at peace and in comfort in their last days. http://www.crossroadshospicesociety.com/

Note: If you are making a donation to the Crossroads Hospice by credit card, please email or fax in the donation form (from their website) so the Hospice receives 100% of your donation, instead of using the online payment link (also on their website) as that is processed by a 3rd party who charges a service fee. Thank you for your contribution. - The Dytuco Family
