Obituary for Maria Elfrieda Tuzzi

MARIA ELFRIEDA TUZZI

It is with extremely heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our loving sweet mother MariaTuzzi, 85 years old.

Maria was born in a chicken house in Burnaby on January 8, 1938. She grew up speaking only German until she went to kindergarten where she learned to speak English. She was the youngest of 3 children, predeceased by her two older brothers: Karl and Albert Englmann.

In 1960, she met the love of her life, Marcel Tuzzi, while dancing and was married just 10 months later. Together they had 5 beautiful children, their sons Roberto (Brenda), Michael (Alicia), Antonio (Arden), Adriano, and a daughter Michelle (Ted). They were happily married for 53 years when Marcel passed away in 2013.

Maria loved horses, gardening, bowling, playing chess, bingo, singing, cooking, and most of all spending time with her 5 children, their spouses and 12 grandchildren: Jordan, Evan (Rachel), Aaron, Dante, Tatiana, Darian, Joshua, Avianna, Berntina, Adam, Jayden, Kash and predeceased by her great-granddaughter Emilia. She was always a social butterfly, the life of the party, and often the last to leave. She enjoyed life to the fullest, always strong in her Catholic faith, she was part of the Catholic Women’s League and the church choir for well over 45 years. A gentle, loving person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 27 at 11:00am, All Saints Catholic Church, 821 Fairfax Street, Coquitlam, BC with a reception to follow.
