Obituary for Marjorie Doreen Irvine (Leslie)

With profound sadness, the family of Marjorie Doreen Irvine (nee) Leslie announce her passing. At almost 100, Marge was born in 1923 in Vancouver to Ethel and James Leslie. A tomboy growing up, there was not a tree in East Van that hadn’t been climbed. Marge left school at 17. She had wanted to be a nurse but she met her future husband on a blind date at the PNE and her future was set. During the war while Jimmy was overseas she worked at the plywood factory. When Jim returned from war they started their family having two beautiful girls, Wanda and Sandra. They moved into the house on E King Edward where Marge would live until 2017. Predeceased by husband Jim in 1967 and daughter Sandra in 1968, Marge went on to work at Woodward’s for many years. She finally moved out to Coquitlam to be closer to Wanda and enjoyed spending time on long drives on the weekends with “Wand”. She loved cards, playing bingo and listening to music at Parkwood Manor.
She is survived by her daughter Wanda, grand daughters Deb (Brian) Jen (Chad) grandson Chris and great grandchildren Ariel(Briggs), Chase, Justin, Charlotte and Rylie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
At Marge’s request no funeral service will be had.
