Obituary for Mary Margaret Bocking

It is with the utmost sadness to announce the passing of a beautiful woman, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Mary was born on October 1st, 1953 in Burnaby BC. She is predeceased by her husband Brian Bocking, her mother and father (Joseph and Yvonne Doucette), her big sister Annie(Taylor), and her best friend /sister of 60 years Marie(Doucette).

Mary is survived by her two daughters Christine(Jason) and Jennifer (Dimos), her 6 grandchildren Jameson (Jayna) Bryan, Shae-Lynn, Alexander, Jordan (Diamond), and Thoren as well as her two great granddaughters Keira and Lilly.

Mary had a talent for knitting and a love of football. Many knew her as the "Football Queen" over the years as she ran more than a few successful football pools. One of Mary's favorite things to do was knit a special baby blanket for any baby coming into the world. Her talent was amazing and as her mother said "her tension was perfect". This coming from an experienced knitter herself!!! Cooking was another favorite. Mary loved to cook a meal for anyone and everyone and she sure knew what she was doing!!!

Mary never hesitated to give whatever she had to help anyone no matter what.

It is very unfortunate that Mary had to battle against cancer. She was and always will be a warrior in every sense of the word. She fought so bravely from beginning to end. There were very special moments with family that made her last days so very special. Ones with her daughter Christine, grandson Jameson, and sister Penny ,as well as meeting her great granddaughter Lilly among many other family members.

Mary left us on September 8th 2022. She always loved the royals. How fitting to exit with the queen. The only appropriate thing to say is that there was only one queen that left us that day and that was Mary Bocking.

It is safe to say Mary is in Heaven knitting with her Mum, watching football, and, possibly an episode of MASH!!!!
