Merle Florence Thom (nee Hay) was born in Vancouver, BC on November 24, 1947. She passed away peacefully into the arms of her parents Murven and Paulette on October 29, 2020. Merle is survived by David, her loving husband of 41 years; sons David (Pina) and Paul; daughters Marnie (Pat) and Leslie (Bryce); grandson Jake (Lauren) and granddaughters Tanner (Adam), Dallas and Dayna. Merle was everyone's Mom; always there to lend a helping hand. Her strength and humour will be greatly missed as well as her huge smile and crooked grin/smirk. Many thanks to the nurses and staff at The Madison Care Centre in Coquitlam that took care of Merle in her final days. No funeral will be held upon request. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in Merle's name to the BC Cancer Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of BC.
