Obituary for Norman Joseph Lynch

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Lynch of Coquitlam, BC, on March 11, 2021, at the age of 80, surrounded by his loving daughters.

Norm was born on October 26, 1940, in Montreal, Quebec, to parents Yvonne and Daniel Lynch, and is survived by his brother, Robert Lynch (predeceased Louise).

Norm worked as a truck driver at Manicouagan Dam in Quebec where he met his wife, Madeleine (Mado). Together they moved to Vancouver, BC, in 1965 where they settled and had three daughters: Danielle (Steve) of Coquitlam, BC; Kathy (Doug) of New Sarepta, AB; Francine (Terry) of Langley, BC, and seven grandchildren. He was the proud Papa of David, Daniel (Cheryl), Sean (Haley), Kandice (Nicolas), Josh, Derek, and Luke, and an even prouder Great Grandpa to Josiah. Norm and Mado had so much love for their grandchildren and supported them in all their sports and activities. His passion for playing golf with Mado was a great one.

Norm worked for Arrow Transfer as a long haul truck driver and was a member of Teamsters Local 31. After suffering from a stroke in 1992, he went into early retirement. Norm became the president and curator of the Teamsters Freight Transportation Museum and Archives where he spent many Thursdays and weekends with other retired teamsters and truck restoration enthusiasts. He will be remembered by family sitting at his kitchen table reminiscing and telling stories of all his experiences over the years.

Due to the pandemic, there will be a Celebration of Life with family members only.

Expressions of sympathy to the family may be left on this website.
