Obituary for Ronald Injates

Ron was born in Neepawa, Manitoba. He passed away in Port Moody, BC with family around him on November 28, 2021 at the age of 79 years. He is predeceased by his Dad, Stan Injates, his mother Kathy Rajotte, and his younger brother Lou. He will be missed by his sisters, Dee Dee Vinet,
Sandy McVey, Shelly Strachan (Gordie), and his sister-in-law, Brenda. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 58 years, Sharon, his sons, Ron (Tamara), Christian (Shannon) and his dearly loved grandsons, Aiden and Aaron.

Ron was a man of integrity and honest in every way and situation. He was tolerant, and compassionate. He had a strong work ethic. Most of his work life involved real estate in some form, appraisal, tax assessment,
highways land acquisition, real estate management and sales.

Before vascular dementia got him in its grip, he had interests in history (especially World War ll history), philosophical discussions, reading, writing short stories based on his observations of people and situations. He loved the stock market, photography, and was the family self- taught computer wizard.

He was a big walker. He hiked the West Coast Trail four times, he and Sharon walked the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage way in Northern Spain. After his retirement, he walked daily around Rocky Point Trail (once, twice, three times.) He was there so much some folks fondly called him the Mayor of Rocky Point Park. He followed the New York Yankees, the Edmonton Eskimos, the Oakland Raiders and of course, the Montreal
Canadiens (we all loved to hear the loud " Wa-Hoo" holler when Montreal scored). He liked movies, and had a large eclectic music collection.

Ron was a family man, enjoying family meals, the Christmas tree trimming party and family trips. He liked road trips, including western US, and Route 66 and dozens of trips back to Manitoba. He enjoyed spirited
political debates with his son. He loved his grandsons above all, and they loved Papa back. When he died, a big heart stopped beating.

The family wants to thank the kind staff at Nicola Lodge Long Term Care Facility, Alouette Neighborhood, where Ron lived for the past four months, and we also want to acknowledge the outstanding and impeccable
care received by Ron from the Eagle Ridge Hospital ER medical and nursing staff, and the compassionate, kind care, focused on his comfort on the C2B ward .

The family would be honored to accept donations to the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation, Alzheimer Society, or any other charity of your choice.
