Srboljub Dimitrijevic
1956 – 2021
It is with great sadness that we write about the passing of Srboljub Dimitrijevic on December 17, 2021. Srba was born on August 21, 1956 in Gilane, Yugoslavia. His family moved to the town of Aleksinac, Yugoslavia in 1960 where Srba lived with his family until they immigrated to Canada on May 4, 1973. He and his family settled in Coquitlam when he was 16 years old. Srba liked to spend his time working on, and driving fast cars, bowling, and going for coffee with his closest friends. He had a mathematical mind that enabled him to excel in his trade and at playing chess and poker. Srba learned his trade from his brothers during his first years in Canada and later went on to earn his Tradesman Qualification in 1994. He met his wife of 36 years, Cindy, in 1981. Their children Julie (1988) and Cody (1990) were born in Mississauga, Ontario where Srba and Cindy spent four years after going on a road trip and deciding to stay for a bit. Srba was foremost a proud Serbian who took pride in his work and loved his family dearly. His sudden passing, due to health complications at the age of 65, is a profound loss to all those that knew and loved him. Srba will live on through his children whom he passed his determination, perseverance, and dedication.
Srba was predeceased by his parents, Zivojin and Zagorka, and two brothers Milos and Gvozden. He is survived by wife, Cindy, daughter, Julie, son, Cody, his sister, Lepa, brother Drago (Vuka), sister’s in-law, Zivica, Jelena, plus many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation will be appreciated.
Due to Covid, the funeral service will be limited to family members. (proof of double vaccination is required).
The Graveside service will start at 12:30pm.
