Obituary for Thomas Clayton Fleetwood

Thomas Clayton Fleetwood passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on Thursday Dec 27, 2018 at the Eagle Ridge Manor in Port Moody, BC. Tom is predeceased by his wife Dorothy Fleetwood (Ainsworth) in April 2005. Survived by his 3 sons: Bob, Geoff (Jeannette), Rick (Cathy), and his 6 Grandchildren Kristen, Kyle, Erin (Bob), Ian, Cora (Geoff), and Abby (Rick).

Tom grew up in Montreal, eventually moving to Vancouver in the late 1940s working as a Heat Treater in the mining/construction industry. He settled in Coquitlam after marrying Dorothy in 1962. His last job was with Micon Products on Granville Island where he worked for nearly 30 years before retiring in 1987.

Tom was a dedicated husband and father who worked very hard to support his family often in tough economic times. He was kind and generous man who enjoyed the company of friends and family. He dedicated many hours to supporting his kids in their various sports activities and later in life as they moved on to their own careers, he took interest and encouraged them in whatever they were doing. He enjoyed a drink or two especially a cold beer after work or at the pub….dad always had time for a cold one right up to his final days….thanks for the wonderful memories….cheers to you!
