Adolf Smode

Adolf (Adi) Smode passed away peacefully at home on 24 May 2015 at the age of 85. Adi is loved and missed by his wife of 55 years, Joan, his sons Peter and Mark, and his four grandchildren. Adi came to Canada in 1952 and became a Professional Engineer in 1964. He worked on several projects ranging from highway construction to major mining operations across the country and around the world. His passion for skiing and helping people led him to serve as a member and one of the leaders of the Whistler Volunteer Ski Patrol over 16 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, loved to travel and spend time with his friends and family.

A memorial service will be help at 10:00 AM on Saturday, 30 May at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Covenant House Vancouver.
