DES ROCHES, Alfred Ian
May 26, 1934 – November 14, 2018

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved dad, brother, and grandpa. Predeceased by brothers Aubrey, Alfred, Raymond, Francis and Edmund; and sisters Barbara, Phoebe and Mary. Ian is survived by his children Erika, Kathy, Marsha and Danny; 8 grandchildren; brother Elmer; sister Joyce, Marguerite, and extended family and friends. He loved his family and friends.

Ian was born in Summerside, PEI. In 1950, Ian joined the Second Battalion of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, for the Korean War, and was awarded the US Presidential Citation. He retired from logging and fishing.

Ian had a passion for hockey, baseball, nature, music, art and reading. Ian will always be remembered for his spirited laugh, joyful personality and generous nature.

The family would like to thank the staff who cared for Ian at the George Derby Centre.

Ian requested cremation and his service will be held at Burquitlam Funeral Home on November 23, 2018 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local seniors care.
