Al passed away peacefully in the Burnaby General Hospital in B.C. on March 29, 2015 in his 88th year.
Son of the late Robert and Susan Pond of Greenspond, Newfoundland, he is survived by his daughter Brenda Naylor (Guy Ouellet) of Ottawa, granddaughter Michelle Naylor - Griffin (Glenn Griffin), and great grandson Aiden Griffin of Calumet Island Quebec, companion Lillian Scott of Burnaby, B.C. , brother Reg Wheeler (Audrey) of Corner Brook, Newfoundland, former wife Alma (nee Moore) of St. John’s Newfoundland, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and their families in Newfoundland.
There will be a memorial celebration of Al’s life at the Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Rd. in Coquitlam, B.C. on Friday May 22nd, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Burnaby Hospital Foundation, 3935 Kincaid St. Burnaby, B.C. V5G 2X6 (www.bhfoundation.ca) would be appreciated.
