Andrea Jane Barlow

On August 8th, 2025, Andrea Jane Barlow (nee Vickery) of Maple Ridge passed away in New Westminster surrounded by her closest family. She was a deeply loved daughter, sister, mother, aunty and friend. 

Born in Vancouver, Andrea was the first of four daughters to George and Nancy Vickery. Andy, as only her sisters could call her, loved being a big sister. Through their family journeys in childhood and individual adventures into adulthood, the bond between Andrea, Jennifer, Laura and Georgia was exceptional, and virtual group calls remained the highlight of her week. 

Andrea’s greatest joy was being a mother to Sarah. Throughout Sarah’s childhood, Andrea never missed a game, school event, field trip or awards ceremony and was never quiet about her pride for her daughter. Given any opportunity she would share it with you, even as Sarah became an adult. 

Andrea was a strong ally, who consistently gave her time and energy to LGBTQ+ issues and in recent years was a big supporter of EPAMA. 

She was prominent in the glass industry for many years and she has left a great void among her colleagues. 

At the end of her life, her family was grateful that Andrea’s final act of kindness was organ and tissue donation. 

To honour Andrea, donations to the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation where she and her family received care and comfort in her final days would be appreciated. 

A celebration of life will be held for Andrea on September 13th, 2025 at 2:30pm at the Kyle Centre in Port Moody.
