It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Ann Hulbert, who left us peacefully on August 29, 2025, at the age of 84. Ann was born in London, England, and spent more than half her life in Port Moody, BC, the city she came to love and serve with all her heart.
Ann will be fondly remembered for her sharp wit, unwavering honesty, strong opinions, and tireless advocacy for her causes. Alongside her extensive charity work, Ann was passionate about travel and photography, with Africa holding a special place in her heart - her slide show presentations were exceedingly popular.
Ann's contributions to the city of Port Moody were profound. As a dedicated Councillor for 21 years, she played an integral role in fostering community growth and spirit. Her lifelong commitment to service included decades of charity work through Rotary and countless hours volunteering at community events, programs and associations. In recognition of her extraordinary efforts, Ann was awarded the Freedom of the City in 2003, an honour that spoke to her enduring legacy of service.
Ann was a connoisseur of English teas and homemade preserves (just ask her). She found joy in gardening, long walks, and reading, and especially in spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Ann leaves behind a legacy of kindness, charity, and generosity. She is survived by her son, Jason; grandchildren, Mira, Isabel, Daniel and Jackson; brother, Anthony, and various in-laws, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter.
A Celebration of Life honoring Ann will be held at Inlet Theatre in Port Moody on Saturday, October 18, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ann’s memory to a fundraiser set up in her memory supporting Rotary World Help, supporting a cause close to her heart.
