Sandra Koch

Ann “Sandra” Koch (Munshaw) of Coquitlam passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 22, 2026 surrounded by her family at the age of 91.

Sandra is survived by daughters Susan (Barry) Agar, Shelley (Grant) Sahaydak, Jacquie (Mark) Steele, grandchildren Heather (Erik) Michelsen, Teresa (Brandon) Knee, Laura (Aaron) Broomfield, Lindsay (Al) Rhodes, Scott (Kate) Sahaydak, Spencer (Lucie) Steele, Davis Steele, and great grandchildren Danika, Karina, Cooper, Wesley, Blake, Callum, Camryn, Grace, Charlotte, Myles, Rose, Elle, Thomas, Evelyn and Charles. She also leaves behind many relatives and friends around the world. Sandra was predeceased by her husband Jack, parents John and Violet Munshaw, step-mother Edith Munshaw, in-laws Brian and Beatrice Koch and brother-in-law Gerald Koch.

Sandra was born on October 24, 1934 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After graduation, she worked at Birks Jewelry Store. She moved to BC in her early 20’s and got a job at Wawanesa Insurance where she met Jack - the love of her life.

Mom and Dad called Hawaii their second home and would fly there every January. They looked forward to reuniting with their large group of friends in front of the Royal Hawaiian on Waikiki Beach that they met during their 45 years of vacationing there.

After Dad passed away in 2021, Mom was determined to be as independent as possible and continue to live in their home.

Mom kept busy working on jigsaw puzzles, she enjoyed doing cross stitch, knitting and other crafts until recently when the pain in her fingers caused by arthritis prevented her from doing these. She enjoyed her Wednesday outings to play Bingo and looked forward to the occasional get togethers for a glass of wine with the neighbours.

Mom/Grandma/GG will forever be in our hearts.

"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear".

The family wishes to thank the staff at Eagle Ridge Hospital and Royal Columbian Hospital for the care they provided during our mom’s final days. No service by request.

Mom and Dad are reunited, walking together again in the Hawaiian sunshine. Their love lives on in the spirit of Aloha.
