Antonio Colpo

August 28, 1946 — March 28, 2023

Antonio Colpo, (76), of Coquitlam, BC, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2023. Antonio, fondly known as Tony, was born to Theresa and Giuseppe Colpo, in Castelgomberto, Vi, Italy.

Tony immigrated to British Columbia in his early 20s and began a lifelong career as a talented welder. He worked all over the province before settling in Burnaby to raise a family. As he was deeply passionate about sports, he was involved in coaching soccer and hockey and kept a very active lifestyle throughout his life. He also spent countless hours volunteering within the Italian community.

Tony is survived by his wife Louisa and two children Nadine (granddaughter Nyah) and David. He is also survived by his siblings in Italy, Maria (Paolo), Sergio (Ivana), Bruno (Adrianna), Armando (Paola), Loretta (Franco) and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by his mother-in-law Gina, sister-in-law Elaine (Dan), niece Stefanie (Bobby) and nephew Matthew.

Tony was always known for his amazing summer garden. He was always willing to give a helping hand with his happy-go-lucky nature. He loved the outdoors, and we were blessed he spent his last moments doing what he loved.

The funeral service will be held at St. Theresa’s Parish, 5146 Laurel St, Burnaby, BC on April 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing at the same location beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Sincerest thanks to all the amazing staff at Vancouver General Hospital for taking such good care of Tony. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to spinal cord injury research at https://join.vghfoundation.ca/acolpo.
