Antonio (Tony) Dytuco

December 31, 1969 — April 28, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the loss of our father, Tony Dytuco, on Sunday, April 28th. Although we were surprised by his sudden passing very shortly after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, we are equally grateful that he did not experience prolonged suffering from that illness that very quickly deteriorated his quality of life. We are also thankful for the blessing that had him able to spend his last days with our Mom, Lumen, his wife of over 60 years, and his children, before he passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Tony was born in the Philippines as one of eight children, and made the bold move with his wife and five children to Vancouver in the 70’s.

He was predeceased by two sons (Jose and Mario) and 4 of his 7 siblings. We have faith that they, along with his parents and friends who predeceased him, provided a warm welcome as he progressed to the place of eternal peace.

As his family and friends will attest to, along with the caregivers at Eagle Ridge Hospital and the Crossroads Hospice (the facilities where he spent the last few weeks of his life), he continued to bring lightness and laughter to most of his conversations, until his last few days when his illness had rapidly progressed. This is the same lightness and laughter he brought to most of his interactions with peers and the many clients he helped throughout his almost 40-year career as a life insurance agent and manager.

We wish to extend our deep appreciation to the staff and volunteers from the Fraser Health Organization and specifically, the Crossroads Hospice whose caring and compassion helped him be in comfort until he passed away peacefully.

We ask that you consider donating to the Crossroads Hospice Society in lieu of sending flowers so that his memory may continue to help others, as he did for so many, for most of his life.

Note: If you are making a donation to the Crossroads Hospice by credit card, please email or fax in the donation form (from their website) so the Hospice receives 100% of your donation, instead of using the online payment link (also on their website) as that is processed by a 3rd party who charges a service fee. Thank you for your contribution. - The Dytuco Family
