Our sweet Ardy

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mom and grandma Ardith Amelia Waters (nee Bigelow) who left this world Tuesday May 23rd , 2023.

Ardith was born November 9th to parents Douglas and Emilie Bigelow, in New Westminster, BC when her father who served in the military was stationed there. She spent her early childhood years living in rural Valemount, BC and Jasper, Alberta. Her childhood memories were filled of happy times, especially those when her dad would take her on horseback to school when she was afraid of wolves. She loved telling that story. She was the eldest of her five siblings, which is probably why she loved the idea of having a big family.
Eventually her family settled in Vancouver where she met, and married James Waters. They began a family, and although things didn’t work out as planned the two remained close until the end. She loved having a big family, and did her best to be a good mother to eight children
despite the hardships she faced. She kept her faith in God and stayed strong for her family when she was needed. She thought being a mother was the most blessed and highest honour. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grand-children dearly, and was so proud of all of their accomplishments. She was happiest when she was surrounded by loved ones.

Ardith is predeceased by her parents, her son Jefferey, her daughter Michele, grandson Michael, brother in-law Bob, and ex-husband Jim.
Ardith leaves to mourn: her children Jamie, Crystal (Bill), Steve (Patti), Darren, Louise (Jim), Angela (Donny), son-in-law Brian, and daughter in-law Diana, brothers Dale (Marcy), Wayne and Terry, sister Rhoda and niece Brandy (Pat), friend Eileen, 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday June 7th at 11:00 AM in the church hall of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church at 2888 Delahaye Dr., Coquitlam, BC.
