It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Arthur Williams, who left us peacefully on May 30, 2026, at the age of 89.
Art is survived by Janet, his beloved wife of 67 years; his three daughters, Shelley (Keith), Tracy (Ian), and Linda (Rob); his cherished grandchildren, Jason (Sue), Karleigh (Chris), Ally (Cody), Vanessa (Jon), Kye, and Zac; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Milo, Evia, Lane, and Reid. Art was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Kettner in 2003.
Born and raised in Vancouver to Arthur Sr. and Margaret Williams, Art moved to Coquitlam in the early 1960s, where he built a wonderful life with Janet and their three girls. Art’s life was defined by hard work, friendship, and an unwavering devotion to family. He spent 41 years working for Burlington Northern Railway as a switchman and foreman, earning the respect of his colleagues through his dedication, leadership, and strong work ethic.
One of Art's greatest passions was Sheridan Lake, where he spent countless years building his dream cabin. The lake became a gathering place for family and friends and the backdrop for many treasured memories. Art loved everything about lake life—riding quads, waterskiing, boating, and spending hours puttering and whistling away in the back garage. He was always happiest when working on a project, lending a hand, or welcoming a friend who stopped by for a visit.
Art leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, friendship, and unforgettable memories. He will be deeply missed by his family, his many friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A Celebration of Arthur's Life will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Fremont Riverclub, 538 Seaborne Place, Port Coquitlam, BC.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in Arthur's memory.
Forever loved, forever remembered.
