August 19, 1937 - June 16, 2017
Barbara Smith passed away peacefully
surrounded by family into the presence of her
Lord and Saviour on Friday, June 16, 2017.
Predeceased by her loving husband David;
parents Fred and Catherine Silk; brothers
Fred, Doug, Gordon and sister Jean. Barbara
is survived by her children Rick (Carol)
Brenda (Dan) Janice (Kevin) as well as
numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews, great-nieces and
nephews and many friends who loved her
dearly. Barb was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba
on August 19, 1937. She was the youngest of
5 children. Barb and Dave travelled to B.C.
with their 3 children where they raised their
family and set up a neon sign business. Barb
loved to travel and was fortunate to
experience many wonderful vacations with
family and friends. Barb will be fondly
remembered for her fantastic sense of
humour, her kind and generous nature,
wisdom and her overwhelming admiration for
the children. She will be deeply missed by all
who knew her and we will hold the fondest
memories of her forever. "The best and most
beautiful things in the world cannot be seen
nor even touched, but just felt in the heart".
Funeral Service to be held on Saturday, June
24 at 2:00 p.m., Burquitlam Funeral home,
625 North Rd. Coquitlam, B.C. In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to the
Canadian Red Cross Society. Private family
burial to be held at a later date.
