Hosking, Beverley Anne passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease July 24, with her husband of 54 years Al by her side. Bev is predeceased by her older sister Joyce. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children: Penny (Jim), Mary (Paul), Steve and Anne; grandchildren Colby, Amber and Tyson, and her sister Myrla, and other friends and family. Born September 25, 1932 she was a winner of the Governor General’s Award in high school, she got a BA at United College in Winnipeg, her teachers certificate from normal school and then went on to teach elementary school for 10 years. In 1961 she retired to become a full time mother to her four kids and helped Dad in every parish he served as Sunday school teacher, altar guild member or whatever else the parish needed. She will be remembered for her welcoming nature, compassion, attention to detail, sense of humor, love of family and, of course, her legendary apple pies. A funeral service will be held Tuesday July 29th 1:30pm at St. Laurence Anglican Church, 825 St. Laurence St, Coquitlam.
