Bing Chan

August 24, 1935 — September 9, 2020

Ben (Bing) was born in Canton China. He came to Canada in 1949 at the age of 14. He followed his Grandpa to Quesnel in search of a better life. He enjoyed living in the small town of Quesnel for 69 years. He retired in 1998 from the restaurant business (Nugget Cafe, New Nugget Cafe and Ben’s Westside Kitchen) where he enjoyed the company of his customers, friends and devoted staff. In 2018 Ben and his wife Mary moved to Coquitlam. Ben was an incredibly loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Ben is survived by his Wife Mary; Son Peter (Sandi), granddaughter Christina (Marty), great granddaughter Allie, granddaughter Shantelle; Son Fred (Susanna), grandsons William and Matty; Daughter Judy (Kerry), grandson Nicholas.

Ben lived a full life. He really loved spending time with family and friends, eating good food and going to the casino.

We will dearly miss his infectious smile, his laughter, and his generous and kind heart.
