Catherine Ann Patricia Bowen

It is with deep sadness we announce Catherine Bowen (nee Furlot) of Pitt Meadows was called home to the Lord on May 6, 2026. She was surrounded by loved ones as she passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 54 years, Larry, and her children Jason and Shane (Courtney). Born on March 24, 1951, in New Westminster to Douglas and Dorilla Furlot, she was the second of five children and chose to dedicate her life to family and faith.

A devoted member of Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Port Coquitlam since 1975, Catherine was known for her unwavering spirit of gratefulness and joy. There was no limit to her love and compassion as she constantly cared for others in any way she could. Her sense of fun and creativity shined in her many flower arrangements, costume designs and event planning. She had a passion for photography, taking pictures of nature, family and friends. In her later years she joined Larry (aka Santa) at Christmas events and adored being with children as “Nana-Claus”. In her quiet time at home she loved tending to her patio garden and being visited by her hummingbirds.

• Vigil prayer service and viewing will be held at 7pm on May 21st at Our Lady of Assumption Church.
• Funeral mass will be held at 11am on May 22nd at Our Lady of Assumption Church.
