It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Herbert Ibbott on March 21, 2026, in Port Moody, BC. A man of integrity, leadership, and profound devotion to his family, "Chuck" leaves behind a legacy of hard work and cherished memories.
Born on October 18, 1943, Chuck's professional journey was defined by his dedication and expertise in the construction industry. He was instrumental in expanding Aetna Roofing, moving to Vancouver to establish and lead their branch office. He later brought his leadership to Soprema Waterproofing, where he served as a Regional Manager.
Beyond his professional success, Chuck's greatest achievement was his 58-year marriage to his beloved wife, Dianna. Together, they built a life centered on love and stability. Chuck was a devoted father to his son, Brad (Jennifer), and carried the memory of his daughter, Trina, who predeceased him, forever in his heart. He was a proud and doting grandfather to his "two amazing" granddaughters, Alyssa and Taylor, who brought immense joy to his later years.
Chuck was a man of simple but deep passions. He loved travel and explored many places including Switzerland, Europe, Turkey, Baltic, United Emirates, United Kingdom, South Asia, South America and many other parts of the world. He found peace in his garden, and a quiet contentment in the pages of a good book. Above all, he was a family man who valued the time spent with those he loved most.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard (Vaso) and David (Kim). His memory will be cherished by his sister, Barbara (Michael), and special family members Naomi (Ron), Jamie, and "Monty". He is also fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews-Jeff (Kristin), Colin (Stephanie), Ryan (Tonya), Kelly (Arthur), Brock (Karla), David, Lisa, and Jenna-as well as a wide circle of extended family, dear friends, and former colleagues. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Eagle Ridge for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society. A Celebration of Life will be held at Old Mill Boathouse, 2715 Esplanade Avenue, Port Moody, on Thursday, May 7 from 2:00-4:00 pm, where we will gather to share stories and honor a life well-lived.
