Daryl Anderson

May 14, 1968 — April 26, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daryl Gordon Anderson. Daryl passed away peacefully at his home in Port Moody, BC in the early morning hours of Friday, April 26, 2024, at the age of 55, surrounded with the love of his wife and children.
Born in Vancouver, BC on May 14, 1968 to Stanley and Helen Anderson, Daryl was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished baby brother, and a beloved nephew, uncle, great uncle and cousin. He was also a loyal and well respected colleague and loving, supportive friend.

Daryl and Barb were married for almost 29 years, raising their family in Port Moody for the past 18 years. The love he had for his wife and children was evident in both his actions and words, never shying away from words of love and always prioritizing his family over all else. Daryl happily spent many hours popping popcorn and flipping pancakes for Aspenwood Elementary School fundraisers. In those early years he would fly home from his work travels just in time to see his kids’ Christmas pageants, then catch a flight right back to work hours later. The immense pride he had for his children never faltered, from their very first breaths, right up until Daryl’s last.

While enjoying music, travelling, cycling, hiking, renovating, and taking great pride in his 25+ year career with Spartan Controls, Daryl was always upbeat, positive, and ready with a smile and a joke. He shared wonderful memories of his childhood and teen years with family and friends, would often remind us all to have fun, look up and enjoy the view, remember the good times and always, always, take time out for a great cup of coffee or a scoop or two of ice cream.
We will forever miss his carefully curated playlists, delicious mocha martinis, frequently washed cars, his warm, kind nature, unfailing positivity and most of all, his never-ending love.
Daryl is survived by his loving wife Barbara and beloved children Ethan and Sophie, his siblings Karen (Tim), Sharon (Lorne), Larry (Jill), Paul (Janice), Lea, his cousins, his very close friends Glennis and Brad, uncles Roy (Lynn), and Gordon (Claudia), nieces and nephews Shannon (Tyler), Jim (Angie), Owen (Krystle), Lindsay (Steve), Hank (Karen), Darren (Jesse), Adam (Rebecca), Joel (Erin), Alyssa, Ross, Connor, Morgan, Elise, Myah, Michelle (Spencer), Matthew (Lauren), Samuel (Amanda), Liam (Shaelee), Chad, his mother-in-law Eileen, sister-in-law Cheryl (Brien), and his great nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his loving Dad Stan, beloved Mom Helen, Father-in-Law Raymond, Auntie Elva, and his niece Adelai. He will now be reunited with his old friend Mike.

Daryl’s humour, grace, and never ending hope deeply impacted those of us that were fortunate enough to spend time with him. Cheers to you, Daryl. You will reside forever in our hearts. Until we meet again.
