INGRAM, David McGarva
May 4, 1918 – April 6, 2013
Born in Girvan, Scotland, trained in hotel management, served in the Cameron Scottish Rifles during WWII, married Lilian Woodward in 1943, and fathered Jennifer and Michael. The family immigrated to Canada in 1956. He settled in Edmonton and worked for the Federal Department of Transport from 1963 -1983.
Golf was his passion. He shot 80 on his 80th birthday but said, “I don’t know what the big deal is. I shot 79 the next week.” Typical David.
He was chivalrous, charming, and his sense of humour attracted many friends. He lived his life according to his own plan.
David is survived by his daughter Jennifer and his extended family in Scotland. His life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, May 4, at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Rd, Coquitlam, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer Society.
