Anne Effie Kully (O’Neill)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Anne Kully, on January 4, 2025 at the age of 82. Anne was predeceased by her husband Alex, son Bernie and sister Margaret. She is survived by her son Mike (Michelle), grandsons Dominic, Wyatt, sisters Rita (Tom), Mary, Diane (Paul) and brother-in-law Robert (Maureen).
Anne was born on Feb. 5, 1942 to John and Dollena O’Neill in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. After high school she attended Mount St. Vincent University where she earned a degree in education. She taught at various schools in Nova Scotia before moving to Edmonton where she met and married Al Kully on July 1, 1972. They welcomed two boys, Mike and Bernie. In 1984 the family moved to BC and settled in Coquitlam. Anne taught at St. Patrick’s Elementary in Maple Ridge, becoming a principal and remaining there until her retirement.
Anne’s life was devoted to her faith, her family and education. She loved learning and was a dedicated teacher and principal. She was an active CWL member and was president and an executive member for a number of years.
Anne was the heart of our home and family. She adored her two sons and two grandsons. She was a stylish person who loved to have fun, go shopping and was always up for an adventure.
She was admired, deeply respected and cherished by many friends. She will always be remembered and live forever in our hearts.
Funeral will be on Thursday, January 16 at 11:00 am at All Saints Parish in Coquitlam.
