Elroy passed away peacefully in hospice care with his wife, Carolyn, by his side after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He will be greatly missed.
Born in Riverton, Manitoba, Elroy moved to British Columbia with Carolyn in 1965 after they were married. They shared nearly 60 years together, traveling, raising a family and planning for their retirement years.
Elroy worked at Inland Kenworth for over 30 years, retiring in 2004. He and Carolyn then moved to Port Moody. They enjoyed over 20 years of retirement, spending time at Black Mountain Ranch, going on many enjoyable trips and cruises, and spending snowbird winters in Desert Hot Springs and Cabo San Lucas.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Dawn (Dirk); son, Dean (Susie); grandchildren, Emma (Layth), Megan, Amber, Robert (Aleesha), Ashley (Jake), Jack, and Lexi; and great-grandchildren, Charlie, Peyson, Maycee, Esme, Juniper, Meryem, and Audrey, sister-in-law Marguerite, nephew Rob (Sandy) and is predeceased by his brother Robert
We will be honoring Elroy’s wishes to have no service. In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting a donation be made to Crossroads Hospice Society where Elroy spent the last few weeks under their kind care
