Joan passed away peacefully at the age of 81 following a year long courageous fight with cancer. Born Elsie Joan Stanley in Regina and raised in Kerrobert Saskatchewan, Joan had been a resident of Port Moody for forty-eight years. Joan was predeceased by her husband Ernie, and is survived by her son Bruce, daughter Christine, son-in-law Paul Coulombe, and the joys of her later life, her grandchildren Luc and Mary Coulombe. Joan's second love was being a teacher-librarian in the Coquitlam school district. She was a founding member of Eagle Ridge United Church, where a celebration of her life will be held on October 4th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Crossroads Hospice Society.
