PLEASE JOIN US AS WE SAY FAREWELL AND HONOR THE LIFE OF OUR BELOVED ESTELA FERNANDEZ.

ESTELA FERNANDEZ, who loved to be called “Mama”by her kids, and “Mama Estela”by her grandkids and great grandkids, departed her loving family on October 16, 2025.

Estela was born in Cuyapo, province of Nueva Ecija in the Philippines on December 29, 1927 to Cesar Fernandez and Juaning Sugay.

ESTELA WAS MOTHER TO Erlinda, Alex, Abraham, Eleanore, Arend Roland and Elsie. She raised her children with utmost love and tender devotion in Manila, Philippines with her husband, Ernesto.

She obtained her bachelor’s degree and Master of Arts degree at the Centro Escolar University in Manila, Philippines. As a teacher and educator, Estela was known for her endearing concerns for her students. These enabled her to teach at Santa Isabel College to high school and college students and in the Manila High School handling young aspiring high schoolers. She enjoyed traveling abroad including Europe and visiting families and friends in the USA. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, gardening and during her retirement, she volunteered her time at the Salvation Army and the New To You Thrift Shop. She was most proud of her academic excellence while making sure to always be there for her family and loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Alex and Estrellita (her daughter in law), Abraham, Eleanore, Arend Roland, Elsie, and grandchildren Carly and Warren (her son in law), Paulyne, Frederic, Bernadette, Dorothy and Andy (her son in law), Glenice and Ryland (her son in law), Oniger and great grandchildren Natasha, Sienna, Joseph, Harrison and great great granddaughter, Avery. She is also survived by her younger sister Lerma.

She will always hold a special place in our hearts and will be missed. Services will be held at St. Michael’s parish church on November 5, 2025 at 10:45 AM. Burial will be announced on a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Lung Cancer Society can be made in ESTELA FERNADEZ’s name.
