Frank Clifford

August 20, 1911 — January 14, 2019

Frank was born in the town of Ellingham Hampshire in southern England on August 20th, 1911. Frank’s parents had 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls. Frank was the second oldest child. Sisters Mary, Emily, and Marjorie, Brothers Ernie and John. The family came to Canada in 1925 where his parents settled as farmers in Alberta. Frank was forced to quit school to tend the farm. As a teenager Frank tried out for the Canadian Olympic team. He missed making the team by ½ second in the 100-metre dash Eventually, Frank moved on working in Montreal and Calgary before settling in Vancouver.

Frank has done many different jobs during his long Career. He has worked as a farmer, mechanic, machinist, assembler, carpenter and a Real estate agent. Frank was a great 5-pin bowler winning many events and trophies, a excellent golfer, and enjoyed photography. He also followed the Canucks and BC lions games with great interest. His favorite being Calgary. He also enjoyed horse racing and traveling.

Frank enjoyed playing at many Casinos and incredibly up until few years ago still traveled frequently to Reno. He would also enjoy a very tough jigsaw puzzle now and then.

Frank was non confrontational, mild mannered and gets along with everyone. I know I speak for everyone here today in saying Frank was well loved, respected and admired by all who know him.
