George was born on February 28th, 1929 and passed away peacefully on May 23rd, 2013. George will be sadly missed by his loving wife of sixty years, Sylvia, children Tom (Mollie), Greg (Jenny), Debbie, Rick (Sue) and grandchildren Courtney, Caitlin, Colleen, India and Zane and one sister Jeanette Dawson. Predeceased by his 2 brothers and 3 sisters, and first grandson Adam in 2004. George was born on James Island, BC and moved to Vancouver as a teenager. He then began his long career with Woodwards, where he met his future wife Sylvia. George, Sylvia and their children spent many long and happy years together on Brookmere Avenue in Coquitlam. After retirement George and Sylvia moved to Pitt Meadows. George was a loving, hard-working family man, who loved taking everyone for Sunday drives, road trips, family reunions and trips to Saskatchewan. He enjoyed Saturday night card games with the neighbours, ten pin bowling and always had a passion for hockey. In his later years George discovered a love for baking, lawn bowling, and gardening. Service to be held at Burquitlam Funeral Home on Thursday May 30th at 10:00am. Many thanks to the caring staff at McKenney Creek Hospice, where George spent his last week. Rest easy Dad.
