Gianfranco Dy

Gianfranco Giuseppe Dy, lovingly known as Gio to everyone, passed away unexpectedly on October 23rd, 2024 at his residence in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. He was only 31 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death.

Born on September 7, 1993 in Edmonton, Alberta, Gio was the beloved son of Danny and Laida Dy. Gio is survived and missed by his partner Rhomelyne “Lyn” Alcayaga; and his son Giorgio Dy; sisters Atheena Dy (Justin Ward) and Bianca Dy (Ciara Breadmore); and numerous other family members and friends.
Gio was a cherished son, father, brother, and friend. He was always the life of the party and had the biggest smile in the room. He loved to collect shoes, Jordan’s being his favorite. Gio was a food aficionado and was always trying out the newest restaurants.

Gio and his son Giorgio were like twins, sharing their love of food and often dressing in matching outfits. Gio prized being a father, and can rest in peace knowing his legacy will carry on in Giorgio.
Visitation will be held at Kearney Columbia-Bowell Chapel, 219-6th Street New Westminster on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 3-5pm.
Gio will then be cremated on November 4, 2024. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow in Massachusetts. Further details will be shared soon.
