Gilberte (Gail) Fontaine

Dear Family and Friends,

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved mother, Gilberte (Gail) Marie Fontaine. Gail passed away peacefully Aug 27th at the age of 87 following a lengthy stay with the excellent and compassionate team at the Kiwanis Care Centre.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 67 years, Noel and her children Liliane (Erle), Ron (Michele), Paul, along with 6 Grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Malcom, Lee-Anne, Landon, Caleigh, and 2 Great-Grandchildren Myles and Gia.

Gail was born July 17, 1939 in St. Boniface, Winnipeg to Emile and Albertine Marcoux, and was one of four children. She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many touching countless lives with her warmth, her kindness, laugher and generous heart.

Gail was dedicated to her family and very much enjoyed hosting countless gatherings for family & friends. She was artistic and creative and loved her time in the gardens, feeding the birds, camping, painting both watercolor and rock. Her creativity could be seen throughout her home as she made her surroundings beautiful. Throughout her life, her faith was a guiding light. She was deeply involved in the church, where she touched many lives with her kindness, involvement with the Catholic Women's League, where she helped others for several years.

Though Gail will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her, her legacy lives on in the laughter she shared, the endless love she gave, and the cherished memories that will forever warm our hearts.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30am Thursday, viewing at 11am, Sept 10 at Our Lady of Fatima Church - 315 Walker St, Coquitlam, BC. Reception to follow.
