In Loving Memory

It is with love and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Gordon Homewood Skelton, who peacefully left us at the age of 94.

Gordon was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, great-grandfather, and a true gentleman whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family shaped the lives of those who knew him. He lived with integrity and a unique sense of humour that brought joy to family and friends throughout his life.

He shared a lifetime with his cherished wife, Erika, whose companionship and devotion were a constant source of happiness. Together they built a family founded on love, resilience, and lasting memories.

Gordon was the proud father of Clifford and Silvia (Jarvis). He was predeceased by his beloved son, Glen, who remained forever in his heart. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Dalyce, Taylor, Cayley, Conor, and Liam, and his cherished great-granddaughter Naya, each of whom brought immense joy to his life and will carry forward his legacy of strength and perseverance.

Those who knew Gordon will remember his larger-than-life presence, adventurous spirit, and the remarkable wisdom he shared through both words and actions. A lifelong mariner, among many other things, whether at the helm of a boat, hoisting the sails, flying the skies, skiing the mountains, scuba diving or simply watching the water, he ultimately found peace, purpose, and happiness on the sea.

Although our hearts are heavy with his passing, we find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind—the laughter shared, the lessons taught by example, and the incredible stories of his endless adventures. His legacy will continue through the family he loved so deeply and through the values he instilled in each of us.

Gordon will be profoundly missed and forever remembered. While he is no longer with us in person, his love remains woven into the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May he rest in peace, reunited with those who have gone before him.
May fair winds and following seas carry him gently on his final voyage.
